A dad has been locked up for killing his toddler daughter after she suffered sexual abuse so violent she bled into her nappy.
Matthew Lee Williamson, 32, was jailed for nine years after his three-year-old, Kyhesha-Lee Joughin, died a “slow, painful death”.
The court heard how the infant was regularly locked in her bedroom for long periods of time, without food, water or access to a toilet.
Her dad allegedly used a rope to keep her in the room for up to 19 hours a day, tying the ends of it to her doorhandle and his bed.
She also suffered horrific physical and sexual abuse, which was so appalling she left blood in her nappy, a previous hearing was told.
Kyhesha-Lee died from a perforated bowel after being punched in the stomach, the Supreme Court in Brisbane, Australia, heard.
Sentencing Williamson, Justice Roslyn Atkinson said she was satisfied the “callous” father had delivered the fatal blow to his daughter.
Williamson had previously admitted manslaughter, but had denied causing any of Kyhesha-Lee’s shocking injuries, the ABC reports.
However, Justice Atkison told the court the defendant had made some false denials after finding his daughter dead in March 2013.
She said she was satisfied by evidence he had caused some of the toddler’s injuries, and said it was a serious case of manslaughter.
