“We will solve North Korea with or without China”: Donald Trump’s pledge over Kim Jong-un’s nuclear weapons


Donald Trump has vowed to take on North Korea’s nuclear arsenal.

He called on China, North Korea ‘s most significant ally, to “solve” the problems caused by its troublesome neighbour.

But he said the US would be prepared to take up the task if China failed to do so.

Trump said in an interview: “China has great influence over North Korea and China will either decide to help us with North Korea or they won’t.

“If they do, that will be very good for China. And If they don’t, it won’t be good for anyone.

North Korea says it is capable of any war with the U.S.

“If China is not going to solve North Korea, we will. That is all I am telling you.”

His comments come amid growing international fears about North Korea’s nuclear weapons programme.

The country has carried out a number of missile tests and claims to have successfully manufactured nuclear warheads that are ready to launch, although some experts have cast doubts over this.

President Trump is set to meet Chinese premier Xi Jingping later this week in Florida.

It comes after a diplomatic row between America and North Korea after US senator John McCain called Kim Jong-un a “crazy fat kid” during a TV interview.

And fellow US Republican Ted Cruz called for North Korea to be added to the list of nations that sponsor terrorism following the assassination of Kim Jong-un’s brother at a Malaysian…
