You will be able to add cards through your companion device (the phone you’ve paired your watch with) and pay by tapping the contactless terminal with your watch’s screen.
Additionally, the both devices will also launch with built-in Google Assistant, making them the first wearables to utilize Google’s AI. The manuals do state that the feature might not be available, depending on location, language or paired devices, but it’s safe to assume it will be available for most users.
The user manuals also point out that some features will not be available when using an iPhone as the watch’s companion device. These include:
- Texting via Google Assistant;
- Reading and sending emails via Google Assistant;
- Accepting and making calls through the watch, instead of the companion device;
- Downloading additional apps from Google Play;
