Olly Murs transformed from singer to superhero as he saved a woman’s life when she started choking in a restaurant.
The former X Factor host was out for a meal when the frightening incident occurred, and he quickly rushed to help by performing the Heimlich manoeuvre.
Video footage uploaded to YouTube shows the star helping the dark haired lady, putting his arms around her and pumping her chest in an effort to dislodge the bit of food caught in her throat.
In the clip, the food can be seen flying out of the lady’s mouth, before she starts to catch her breath.
Other diners can be heard applauding Olly’s life saving efforts, while fans commenting on the video online have hailed him a hero.
“Not all superheroes wear capes @ollyofficial so proud of you,” wrote one.
The 32-year-old met up with the kids as part of his work as ambassador for children’s charity Rays of Sunshine .
Olly, who rose to fame after competing on the X Factor in 2009, has been an ambassador for the charity since 2012.
